As I mentioned in my previous emails...
So much is happening...so quickly. It's clear that this is a pivotal time in our human history. And it's clear we cannot do what we need to do alone, nor were we meant to.
Like many of us, I struggle to share what
is lying inside my heart so I am sharing what resonates with me-
First about voting, from the Elephant Journal, that I know to be true
Second from Tim Ryan, Congressman from Ohio who does not advocate Democrat or Republican (and instead advocates mindfulness or "Know Thyself" as did Socrates.)
Both share much in common- methods to learn your Truth, speak your Truth and find common ground with other human beings for the benefit of ALL OF US.
What some of us fail to understand about America, and patriotism in a democracy, is that
speaking up isn’t the privilege of the few—it’s the duty of all of us. The most direct way to speak up: VOTE. What true patriots
understand is that generosity and education and giving and standing up for those without a voice is more important than soapboxing hate online. When yet another mass shooting happens, we’re reminded: it’s all connected. Mental health and safety, bullying and insecurity, inequality and education, reasonable gun control and partisanship. This world is a small world, and we’re all vulnerable. Let’s come together and communicate and work to protect our next generations—and this one. Show up. Vote.
Stop protest-voting. Grow up. Fight for who you want, peaceably. If they lose, vote for the far better even if they’re not perfect. Life ain’t perfect and when you hold out for perfect you make our world much worse, with real consequences for our less-privileged and most vulnerable. - Elephant Journal
